An integral part of this series of drawings is size. You’ll notice below that the actual size is rather large, especially for a drawing. I love drawing’s physicality, and part of that is the size in the case of this series. At this size, the work becomes larger than the average person, and really become confrontational in a way that smaller work can’t. We simply have a different approach to things that are larger than us, and I think that creates a really interesting tension. I hope to some day have facilities to make really big drawings.
