Drawing was always my first love. Like most kids, I grew up drawing. I used to draw pretty incessantly, when I had a lot of down-time (read: time I had to spend in some sort of class). Now I don’t draw as much, which I’ve made peace with. However, I treat drawing as a finished product rather than a nervous activity or a preparation for another work. I will always love drawings immediacy and the ease with which it captures a gesture. Something about a streak of compressed charcoal just makes my knees go weak.
